Yes. If you're registered with an NHS dentist but want to switch, you can register with a different practice that is accepting new patients. There's no formal de-registration process — simply register with your new dentist. If your previous dentist had X-rays or records, ask them to be sent to your new dentist.

In Northern Ireland, patients pay 80% of the treatment cost up to a maximum cap of £384 per course of treatment. Some patients are exempt or entitled to help. See our NHS Charges page for full details.

Most people should visit their dentist at least once a year for a check-up. Some people, especially those with gum disease or other conditions, may need more frequent visits. Ask your dentist how often you should attend.
